LA Vampires feat. Ital - Streetwise

More gold from Not Not Fun, this time a collaboration from the coolest characters in the game, LA Vampires and Ital (Daniel from Mi Ami/Sex Worker).

Mi Ami - Dolphins

It is a real Daniel Martin-McCormick love-in at Deformative this week but he is one of the most inspiring people making music right now, so what of it. I’ve loved watching the evolution of Mi Ami over the last few years - from the raucous tropicalia of their African Rhythms 12”, which was then stretched to new lengths on their debut album Watersports.

…to the A Towers Fall and Cut Men/Out At Night 12” that followed and gave a glimpse of both the intense, frantic rhythms and dubbed-out soundscapes that would make-up second album, Steal Your Face.

“Cut Men”

And now, after dropping a member, the band have taken the route already traversed by Martin-McCormick in his Sex Worker and Ital projects and become a leftfield, party-jam duo, as evidenced on new 12” Dolphins. Here’s the video for Hard-Up, directed by Amanda Brown (Pocahaunted/LA Vampires/NNF/100% Silk), and you can listen to the rest of the tracks on Mi Ami’s SoundCloud.
